4.3.7 Ethernet

The Ethernet interface of the COMe-cSP2 uses the latest Intel® 82574L Gigabit Ethernet controller that is connected

to the PCIexpress Switch Port #1. The network controller supports a 10/100/1000 Base-T interface. The device auto-

negotiates the use of 10 Mbit/sec, 100 Mbit/sec or 1Gbit/sec connections.

The ethernet interface operates at lowest power (<1W) when Gbit-Ethernet is fully active and supports functions as

WOL (Wake On LAN) and PXE (Preboot eXecution Environment) boot.

Configuration

The Ethernet controller is a PCIexpress bus device. The BIOS allocates required system resources during configuration

of the PCIexpress device.
